McDonald’s Announces Big Mac Dispensing Stations That Require No Staff Assistance

There is an up and coming  minimum-wage working super employee waiting in the wings!

McDonald’s, like so many other big box food chains and retailers are implementing these alternative employees to their businesses. This is nothing new. The kiosk employee are on duty 24/7 in many businesses.  Europe and other countries overseas have successfully use the self-serve kiosk for quite some time now…

McDonald’s has found a way to keep up with rising labor costs, and it’s probably not going to please those who are fighting for a higher minimum wage.

The restaurant chain announced that a self-service kiosk would be placed at one of its Boston stores on Jan. 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The freestanding automated cheeseburger machine will offer three different sizes of Big Macs: traditional, the Mac Jr. and the Grand Mac, the Boston Metro reported.

Customers will apparently be able to order a burger without ever interacting with a human.

Several restaurants have toyed with the idea of using kiosks in the past, and there’s little doubt that an interest in the technology has increased because of hikes in the minimum wage.

McDonald’s franchisees have complained about rising labor costs.

“At least half of the operators in my region are on the verge of collapse,” one franchisee wrote in response to a recent survey, according to Business Insider. “With minimum wage for fast food workers potentially increasing to incredibly high levels, we are facing a crisis situation.”

Another franchisee wrote that the minimum wage issue was a “major threat to the survival of the operator community” and that McDonald’s should be “putting every resource available” into finding ways to save money.

Kiosks are simply the result of restaurants trying to make a profit and stay in business while Democrats do their best to put them out of business with their “Fight for $15” agenda.

As usual, Democrats have made things worse by claiming to make them better. Small businesses that cannot afford automated technology may simply have to go out of business because they cannot pay employees minimum wage, and larger corporations will simply invest in technology that replaces human workers.

Either way, those jobs are lost — thanks to Democrats and their lopsided logic.

The purpose of minimum wages is to protect workers against unduly low pay. They help ensure a just and equitable share of the fruits of progress to all, and a minimum living wage to all who are employed and in need of such protection. Minimum wages can also be one element of a policy to overcome poverty and reduce inequality, including those between men and women, by promoting the right to equal remuneration for work of equal value.

Minimum wage is very important to the balance of the worlds economy. The word economy comes from the Greek words for household and management-it is as simple as managing your household. Good old home economics that was taught back in high school generations ago is a key player. The problem in all levels of income is always over spending.

If your long term plan in life is to get married and have children, then it is crucial that you seek more education or possibly a management position that pays substantially more than the $15 per hour. 15 per hour is about 30,000 gross income a year, that is barely enough for one person to live off of in most areas of the US.

Actually in New York City where the minimum wage for fast food workers increased to 15 from first hand experience I’ve noticed that the kiosks have actually causes some McDonald’s location to hire more workers to compensate for some of the serving options that come included with it. Also there are even people whose job it is to explain how to use it and skip the line. Since a lot of McDonald’s are in areas with a lot of foot traffic the amount of people ordering hasn’t decreased but the way the food is ordered has become more complicated. The… Read more »
Also you forget to mention that most people working at fast food restaurants for example McDonald’s do not live alone in fact I would wager a larger portion of the workers at McDonald’s have two forms of income which would make 15 and hour perfect fornliving wages in NYC especially since everyone under 30 working there is probably also not living alone. Your argument is invalid and is perpetuating a lie. In the past when the nation has taken a major financial hit the nation would usually raise the minimum wage to compensate for living costs. Raising the minimum wage… Read more »
